Dealer Connect Is Coming to Life at TMH MidSouth



Dealer Connect (formerly DMS) is up and running at our first pilot dealer, Toyota Material Handling MidSouth, headquarted in Nashville, Tennessee.   After four years of preparation including interviews with 250+ dealer personnel to determine the necessary functionality, identification of 800+ enhancements to support the material handling industry, and investment of over 50,000 hours to create/test Release 1, the MidSouth dealership is going live on Dealer Connect as of April 12, 2021.   Dealer Connect provides systems support for Equipment Sales, Rental, Parts Sales, Service, Project Management, and Finance. It has three elements… (1) Central Connect which is the ERP function handling orders, inventory, invoicing, planning, and accounting/finance, (2) Sales Connect which provides CRM support to help sales personnel manage their leads, opportunities, quotes, and sales activities, and (3) Te ch Connect which provides a paperless system for technicians provide repairs/maintenance on customer equipment.   A project conceived as part of the TMHNA strategy to improve satisfaction of multi-territory customers, Dealer Connect objectives have expanded to include support of processes to improve consistency and quality of our interactions with all customers. It will also help streamline dealer work processes, improve access to information, and enhance communication between dealers and TMH and TICF systems/personnel. It is a key element of TMH efforts to create My Toyota, a customer portal that will strengthen our relationship with customers and provide an unmatched competitive edge for our dealers. The end result we are targeting… happier customers, more satisfied associates, and more profitable dealers.   Southwest Toyotalift in Los Angeles, the second pilot dealer, is actively preparing for go-live on Dealer Connect this summer. Dealer Connect development is continuing as we add additional functionality. Release 2 is expected to become available by early 2022, and we plan to release additional enhancements every six months for years to come. We will begin the deployment process for additional dealers over the next several months and plan to implement 3 to 5 dealers per quarter for the next several years.
