Parts Professionals access six printable Related Parts Worksheets on the Dealer Portal. This can be found in the Parts Bronze Certification catalog. Once you are in the catalog, click on the Related Parts Worksheets course. Then, select a worksheet that you want to work on and click on it. A pop-up window will appear with a printable version of the worksheet. Parts Professionals will then meet with a technician doing one of those repair jobs to review what parts were used, where the parts go, what they do, why they go bad and need to be replaced, and so forth. Based on this knowledge, Parts Professionals are better equipped to support technicians and walk-in customers by recommending related parts. This helps ensure quality work and avoids return trips for overlooked or forgotten parts. This helps reduce downtime and increase customer satisfaction from the repair work Toyota dealers provide. Also, it helps build great working relationships between the Parts and Service Departments within the dealership. Once all the worksheets are completed, the Parts Professional clicks on the box at the bottom of the page. This generates a notification to the Parts Manager to review the worksheets with the associate to set up a meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to review the worksheets together, share what they have learned and how it will help them do their job better in the future. After the meeting, the Parts Manager clicks on the employee's name under notifications, and another screen appears to give credit for the Related Parts Worksheet course. Then, click on each box to give credit for the Related Parts Worksheet course. It is exciting to receive positive feedback from many parts professionals regarding the experiential learning experience with the Related Parts Worksheets. Great job to all the Parts Professionals in growing your parts knowledge! TOYOTA CERTIFIED TRAINER (TCT) SPOTLIGHT Kris Green – Kenco Toyota-Lift Kris Green became a TCT in 2012. He became a TCT because he wanted to pass down the knowledge that he had learned from older technicians. When he attended the new TCT training, he said the biggest highlight was the camaraderie with the other trainers, and everyone who attended had a common goal. His favorite part of becoming a TCT is seeing the technicians “get it.” He also stated that he enjoys “seeing the light bulb turn on.” Since becoming a TCT, Kris has taught just over a hundred courses to 227 technicians. When asked what advice he would give to anyone wanting to become a TCT, he stated, “Never stop studying.” An interesting fact about Kris is that he is an Ordained Baptist Minister. In his spare time, he likes to tear down old barns and build rustic furniture out of the wood.
