TMH hosted the 2021 Platinum Skills Challenge
Eight technicians from around the Dealer network came to Columbus, Indiana, to compete in the annual Platinum Skills Challenge. The challenge consists of 10 workstations that are engineered to evaluate mechanical and mental diagnostic skills, including the entire TMH product line. Each technician was faced with written and mechanical challenges that demanded the application of all available diagnostic equipment and computer-based resources.

Top Three Platinum Technicians Awarded
First Place – Tim Williams – Shoppa’s Material Handling, Ltd.
Tim has been with Shoppa’s for 29 years. His favorite part about being a technician is troubleshooting and learning new products. This is Tim’s fourth time competing in the Platinum Skills Challenge
Second Place – Sam Rogholt – Toyota Material Handling Systems
Sam has been a technician with Toyota Material Handling Systems for 7 years and loves working on new things. This is Sam’s second time competing in the Platinum Skills Challenge.
Third Place – Leonard Szymanik – Atlantic Coast Toyotalift
Leonard has been a technician with Atlantic Coast Toytalift for 25 years. He enjoys being the first responder to a need his customers have.
This is Leonard’s fifth time competing in the Platinum Skills Challenge.

TOP ELEVEN TECHNICIANS SPOTLIGHT
Tim Williams – Shoppa’s Material Handling, Ltd.:
Tim has been a technician for 29 years. The thing that he enjoys most about being a technician is troubleshooting and learning new products. When asked what advice he would give someone wanting to pursue a career in the industry, he stated, “Do it. It is an exciting career and always changing”.
To prepare for the Platinum Skills Challenge, Tim looked over his service manuals to give him the competitive edge he needed. Tim’s hobbies include restoring classic Chevrolet trucks. He is a classic Chevrolet truck fanatic and cannot get enough of them. Congratulations, Tim, on being the First Place winner in our Platinum Skills Challenge this year!
