Training and Development

WHAT’S NEW

SALES & CSSR TRAINING

Toyota Logistics Solutions Brochure: The dealer training department is proud to present the official brochure for the Toyota Logistics Solutions Training. The 3.5-day workshop is held in person at the Vincennes University Training Logistics Training and Education Center located in Plainfield, IN. Please refer to the brochure for important training details. You can register for the class via the learning management system. You can access the brochure here.

Fillable Site Survey Forms Now Available on the Dealer Portal: An accurate, complete site survey benefits all involved: you solve your customer’s problems, ensure the right equipment is ordered and shipped to the correct location, and position yourself as a trusted solutions provider rather than just an order taker.

Several site survey forms, created both in the field and within TMH, have been added to the “Documents” section on the Dealer Portal. These forms are all named with the prefix “SS” for Site Survey. The forms are downloadable and can be used either as a fillable PDF form or printed out to complete with a pencil.

To access the site survey forms and the TLS Brochure, login to the Dealer Portal and click on the Toyota Links tab. Then, click on the Documents Tab.

Check back often as the library of site survey forms will continue to grow as more forms are shared and developed. If you have a form or suggestion for improvements to the forms, please send an email to dealer.training@toyotatmh.com.

To learn more about the site survey process, check out the Toyota Logistics Solutions workshop.

To access the Site Survey Forms, log in to the Dealer Portal and click on the Toyota Links tab. Then, click the Documents Tab.

VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)

Virtual Reality Headsets Available for Purchase: A limited quantity of Oculus for Business headsets are available for purchase through Dealer Training. VR kits include an Oculus for Business Headsets, TMH VR Software, charger, and Oculus Case. Kits are available for $1000.

Dealer training has been working to create virtual reality training. While the best technician training is based on available equipment, VR offers a way for Toyota Certified Trainers (TCTs) to conduct classes on equipment that is not available for classes. Currently, the Core Electric forklift is available in VR. Dealer training plans to add 2-5 additional models in FY22.

The program offers three modes. Technicians may complete the exercise independently with the guidance of a narrator. More experienced technicians may complete the exercise to demonstrate their knowledge. Multiple users can gather around a lift truck and complete the exercise regardless of their physical location. An internet connection and a kit for each user are required.

To order the headsets, please email dealer.training@toyotatmh.com.

PARTS TRAINING

Service Parts Customer Experience Playbook:  The Playbook was launched at Toyota Week and can be found on the Dealer Portal > Dealer Tools > Solution Center > Dealer Development, and titled “2021 Dealer Playbook – Service Parts Customer Experience”. This is full of Parts Department best practices and can help boost customer retention and increase parts sales at a dealership.

PLATINUM SKILL CHALLENGE

Platinum Test and Platinum Skills Challenge Dates Set: To offer some consistency year to year for our Platinum Skills Challenge, we will be launching the Platinum Test in the first two weeks of September. Following the test, we will be holding the Platinum Skills Challenge the first week in November. The regularity of the Platinum Test and the Platinum Skills Challenge will allow our gold technicians to better prepare for the experience of taking the test and participating in the Platinum Skills Challenge.
