Cybersecurity Lessons Learned and Best Practices

Dealer Spotlight

In the wake of the Russian / Ukraine conflict, it is important to consider that global conflicts increase the risk of an attack on the U.S. in the form of cyber warfare. Recent statistics show that human error (i.e., clicking on phishing emails) accounts for 95% of all successful attacks.

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, TMH hosted a Cybersecurity Awareness and Best Practice Sharing presentation via Microsoft Teams. The presentation included:

  • Recent Cybersecurity News and notes from the White House
  • A key intelligence update from Howard Marshall, Global Lead and Managing Director of Accenture’s Cyber Threat Intelligence Team and former Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI’s Cyber Division
  • Hugg and Hall’s experience and lessons learned from a Cyber Ransomware Attack in November 2021
  • Maintainco’s experience and lessons learned from a Cyber Ransomware Attack in February/March 2022
  • Additional best practices shared by Accenture and the TMH IT and Cybersecurity Teams

The pdf version of the presentation is stored on the Dealer Portal at Dealer Portal > Dealer Tools > Solutions Center > Dealer Development. Please note that TMH did not record the presentation.

For reference, the Sales, Rental, and Service Parts Playbooks are also located in the same location on the Dealer Portal.

The material contained within these presentations is intended for the TMH Dealer Network ONLY and should not be shared with a larger audience.
