VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)

Virtual Reality Headsets Available for Purchase: Atlas Toyota Material Handling becomes the first dealer to purchase VR Headsets! A limited quantity of Oculus for Business headsets are available for purchase through Dealer Training. VR kits include an Oculus for Business Headsets, TMH VR Software, charger, and Oculus Case. Kits are available for $1000.

Dealer Training has been working to create virtual reality training. While the best technician training is based on available equipment, VR offers a way for Toyota Certified Trainers (TCTs) to conduct classes on equipment that is not available for classes. Currently, the Core Electric forklift is available in VR. Dealer training plans to add 2-5 additional models in FY22.

The program offers three modes. Technicians may complete the exercise independently with the guidance of a narrator. More experienced technicians may complete the exercise to demonstrate their knowledge. Multiple users can gather around a lift truck and complete the exercise regardless of their physical location. An internet connection and a kit for each user are required.

To order the headsets please email dealer.training@toyotatmh.com.

TOP ELEVEN TECHNICIANS SPOTLIGHT

Sam Rogholt – Toyota Material Handling Systems

Sam has been a technician for 17 years. The thing he enjoys most about being a technician is troubleshooting electrical lifts and working on different projects.

When asked what he looks forward to the most on becoming a platinum technician he stated, “Going to the Platinum Skills Challenge, I had a great time at the last one.” Some advice that Sam would give to anyone wanting to pursue a career in our industry would be to “use your safety devices and find a safe work area.”

An interesting fact about Sam is that he worked in industrial maintenance for 15 years and worked on everything from PLC programming to building full panels for machinery. In his spare time, he enjoys working on vehicles.
