Dealer National Account Wins

Brenntag is a global market leader in chemical and ingredient distribution. Brenntag has been an NPP customer for a decade and a partner with Toyota dealers since 2002. Brenntag values the quality of Toyota’s  products in their applications as well as the service the local dealers provide. Brenntag’s Procurement Manager, Daryl Porter, makes the final decision on material handling needs, but he does rely heavily on the expertise of six Regional Managers who are in charge of their facilities.

When TMH was unable to produce the necessary equipment, we maintained our relationship with Brenntag and they agreed to wait for their requested products.  After the initial order was canceled in 2022, Brenntag reordered 39 units and they have ordered an additional 57 units. This was based on the effort and determination of 18 different Toyota Dealers coming together for our joint NPP customer.

Constant communication with Brenntag was critical in maintaining their trust and support during these trying times. Don Giemzik, TMH District Sales Manager, gives a shout-out to Garrett Clark, Sales Consultant at ProLift Toyota Material Handling, in Evansville, IN. Garrett worked closely with the facilities and Regional Manager in their APR.  Garrett went above and beyond to keep the lines of communication open and won the trust of the Regional Manager who supported the Procurement Manager to secure the additional orders for Toyota. This was a win across the board, and we thank all of the dealerships who supported Brenntag!

Global Key Accounts Explained

What is a Global Key Account?

Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) has established a Global Key Account group. This group is comprised of the following TMHG regions.

  • Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) – Toyota Material Handling (TMH) and the Raymond Corporation (RC).
  • Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE).
  • Toyota Material Handling International (TMHI).  TMHI Japan and TMHI Sweden. TMHIJ and TMHIS are responsible for all areas outside of TMHNA and TMHE regions.

These three regions collaborate to meet the material handling needs of large, global customers that have fleets of more than 4,000 trucks, order 400 trucks a year, or do business in at least two of the three regions.

There are currently 28 GKA customers in the portfolio. Of these 28, six are considered Global Managed Accounts (GMA’s). A GMA has a dedicated account salesperson that is responsible for all three regions.  A few examples are Amazon and IKEA. There are 22 Global Coordinated Accounts (GCA’s). GCA’s do not have a dedicated global salesperson, however all activities are coordinated through the three regions. A few of these customers are Cummins and PepsiCo.

Depending on the structure of these companies, they are handled as a TMH captive National Account, LDNA, or NPP.
