Glanbia Nutritionals is a global manufacturer of cheese and dairy-based proteins. They operate in eight states and are serviced by nine different Toyota Dealers. Dillon Toyota Lift began developing a relationship with key contacts at Glanbia’s headquarters in Twin Falls, Idaho, five years ago. At the time, Glanbia had 100 trucks in its fleet. With Toyota losing orders with this growing company, Glanbia had a mix of equipment brands, most of which were Hysters.
Jay Becker and his team at Dillon Toyota Lift noticed Glanbia’s growth. “Glanbia was acquiring new companies, some of which had Toyota equipment. That exposure to Toyota helped the Dillon team penetrate the account. We were quickly able to build a rapport with Glanbia and develop strong relationships.” Offering creative solutions, including flexibility in leasing and power-by-the-hour, was well-received by Glanbia. As the number of Glanbia facilities grew, Dillon provided recommendations for moving equipment amongst plants. “The quality and consistency from the Toyota Dealer network made a big impact on allowing Dillon to grow Toyota’s share of the business.”
Dillon’s success, along with Glanbia’s growth and centralized purchasing, led to TMH approving Glanbia as a Lead Dealer National Account (LDNA) in 2022.
Recently, Jay Becker and the Dillon team were tasked with a project in North Haven, CT. The site had aisle widths that were less than nine feet, populated by Jungheinrich Moving Mast Reach Trucks. Jay reached out to Andy Pye at Summit ToyotaLift in Connecticut. Jay and Summit collaborated, offering a solution that included opportunity charging and Full Maintenance, provided by Summit. The teamwork resulted in Dillon securing an order for 20 new Moving Mast Reach Trucks, and Summit acquiring an excellent service account.
