Like many companies, Adient was looking for operator-assist solutions for material handling equipment. The global manufacturer of automotive seating contacted Brent Dennison from Hull Lift Truck for assistance. “Adient had considered competitive brands, but they became extremely interested in SEnS+. Their most common lifts are three-wheel electric trucks.” With SEnS+ being an option for new 3-Wheel Electric trucks (and 4-Wheel Electric Core products), Brent matching Adient with SEnS+ was a perfect fit.
“I described how SEnS+ communicates with the truck by slowing down the forklift whenwhen a pedestrian is detected. Adient liked that SEnS+ is not just a ‘yell and tell’ system.” After describing SEnS+ to Adient, Brent organized a factory visit in Columbus.
“The factory tour gave Adient an even higher confidence level of Toyota’s quality. The SEnS+ demonstration clarified that not only does TMH offer the best, most sophisticated pedestrian detection system, but SEnS+ was more affordable than other options Adient was considering.”
The demonstration was so impactful that Adient put a mandate to include a rear detection system with speed control on all sit-down three and four-wheel units. “The Toyota team did a phenomenal job demonstrating the SEnS+ system,” said Brent.
Adient is a lead Dealer National Account for Hull Toyota Lift. Adient operates 29+ facilities in the US and 25+ in Mexico. “Since Adient’s inception in 2016, Toyota has enjoyed a high share within their facilities. SEnS+ will give us a boost to grow within plants that we are not present in and help us hold onto the business we currently enjoy,” said Brent. Adient’s first order was to retrofit SEnS on existing trucks, and Adient is thinking of adding SEnS to additional units currently in operation, including on non-Toyota equipment. All future Adient truck orders are to be equipped with SEnS+.

TMH is Preparing to Help Your Dealership Promote and Demonstrate SenS+
TMH is gearing up to do more SEnS+ demonstrations! TMH ordered (10) 3-wheel electric demo units with SEnS+ and Toyota-branded lithium-ion batteries. This April, TMH’s Dealer Sales team will complete training on SEnS and SEnS+. Upon completion, the District Sales Managers will coordinate regional dealer training for all salespeople. In the coming days, TMH will begin sharing more information regarding this exciting training opportunity.
