Dave Andrews, Corporate Business Services Manager, has announced his intention to retire after June 30, 2023, after a highly decorated and distinguished career. Dave is one of the longest-serving executives in the history of Welch Equipment Company, and his leadership and vision have led to the growth and success of the company. His level of professionalism, work ethic, and commitment continue to inspire us all. Dave has been in the material handling industry since 1978, serving a total of 45 years in the industry.
He started with NJ Malin (a Raymond dealer in Dallas, TX), and he also worked at Carolina Handling as the Service Manager from 1984-1985. Then, he returned to Malin and worked another 10 years prior to joining Welch. Dave began his career at Welch in 1995 and held numerous positions. He started as the Corporate Service Manager when Welch only had 10 total technicians and 75 total associates. Until recently, he also oversaw the Corporate Technician Training Program, led Lean and ASEC Managers, as well as being the go-to contact for full maintenance and field modifications.
Also, he served as the liaison between Welch and the Toyota and Raymond factories for aftermarket campaigns as well as warranty strategies and issues. He has been a member of Toyota’s CQE (Customer Quality Engineering Group of top aftermarket executives) program since 2000. He also implemented the paperless tablet work order system, led Welch’s Toyota Lean Management, and led Welch through ASEC certifications at Denver, Colorado, and Albuquerque, NM facilities. Furthermore, he handled our OSHA and Safety, and aftermarket support for National Accounts for Toyota and Raymond, just to name a few.
Last year, he received The Paragon Award, a lifetime achievement award from Raymond. Dave, we will miss you, and thank you for helping to build Welch into what it is today. Dave will be able to spend more time with his wife, Denise, his children, Nick, and Brittany, and his 4 grandchildren.
