Welch Equipment’s Madeline Schoen Secures 8FBCU25 Order with Toyota Lithium-Ion Batteries

In Toyota’s South West Sales Region, we are celebrating Madeline’s recent win with the Conquest NPP account, Boise Cascade Millworks.

In late October, Madeline of Welch Equipment, secured an order for their first three Toyota lithium-ion batteries and chargers along with three 8FBCU25s for Boise Cascade.

With thirteen current locations and growing, Boise Cascade has expanded its Millworks manufacturing operations and just opened its newest 130,000 square foot door manufacturing facility in Denver.

Historically, Boise Cascade Millworks has been loyal to Hyster and their IC products, but Madeline was able to provide Boise Cascade with a solution that increased the customer’s value over time.

This lead originated from the TMH NPP Sales Group and was shared with Welch. Madeline was quick to assess their needs and proposed the use of three 8FBCU25s paired with the Toyota Lithium 564 Ah batteries and chargers. The trucks are intended for loading and unloading, staging materials, and transportation. While the initial operation is a single-shift, the customer desires flexibility for future expansion. The fast recharge rate of the Toyota Lithium battery and ACT charger appealed to them, addressing concerns about extended charge times associated with lead-acid solutions. Additionally, the customer recognized the value of the Toyota lithium battery 6-year / 5000 cycle life warranty and the UL 2580 fire propagation testing certification when considering the nature of their products.

Prior experience working with lithium-ion batteries made Madeline comfortable proposing this solution. She also worked closely with Toyota’s Energy Solutions consultant, Tanner Vogler, who supported her throughout the spec verification and pricing process from start to finish.

Things came together for Madeline when she hosted Boise Cascade at Welch’s newest state-of-the-art facility, where she was able to provide proof of concept using an onsite demonstration and sell the value of her organization’s support. Needing to meet Boise Cascade’s production start date, Welch was able to tap into trucks they had on order and spec change three forklifts to include their required options, such as side shifting fork positioner and ESS lithium ready option, allowing for faster delivery. In late October, she secured Boise Cascade’s business. Nicely done, Madeline!

Maybe you have a Boise Cascade Millworks location in your APR that might also benefit from a Toyota Solution. (Below is a map of their 13 Millwork locations)
