- VOD PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & CALL TO ACTION
TMH Warranty is excited to announce we are beginning to roll out the new electronic version of the VOD (Voice of the Dealer) and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) process. As a reminder, VODs are quality-related check sheets that are completed by the dealer technician when a new Toyota truck is delivered from the factory to the dealer. PDIs are quality-related check sheets that are completed when a new Toyota truck is delivered from the dealer to the end customer. The intention is to combine the VOD process and the PDI process into one electronic process called Dealer Delivery Quality(DDQ).
We need your support. TMH has created two new Staff Master Roles. Warranty will use one of the new staff master roles to set up your dealer site in the new Dealer Delivery Quality (DDQ) system.
What:
TMH has created two new, required Staff Master Roles:
- Service Dispatcher
- Rental Dispatcher
Why:
The intent is to create a dedicated inbox that TMH can use to submit service and rental requests for fleet accounts, national account customer requests, and MyToyota online service requests. Warranty will utilize the newly created Service Dispatcher email to set up the new DDQ process.
Call to Action:
Please direct your Staff Master Administrator to create a generic user account for each of these roles at each of your dealer locations.
Each generic user account must have an email address associated with it. Dealers must create an email inbox and manage its access through their systems.
Example email format for the Service Dispatcher role: ToyotaService@*Dealer Name*.com
Example email format for the Rental Dispatcher role: ToyotaRental@*Dealer Name*.com
If your Staff Master Administrator has not created the new email addresses listed above for your dealer site, please request they do so ASAP.
- LIB WARRANTY COVERAGE IMPROVEMENT
Toyota lithium-ion batteries offering industry-leading energy density and service life now come with an increased standard warranty of eight years! This superior service life is enabled by proprietary Separion® ceramic separator technology designed by Toyota’s partner, Electrovaya, protected by over 30 patents.
This increased warranty offering is attributed to experience gained by successful deployment and sustained service in the field of lithium-ion batteries in rigorous customer applications and lab settings; warrantied cycle life will remain at the industry-leading 5000 cycles.
Toyota’s lithium-ion batteries offer industry-leading total cost of ownership (TCO) figures enabled by amortization of the product for three (3) years longer than the industry due to the increased life of the product. This strong TCO is complemented by Toyota’s lithium-ion batteries’ high energy density, which results in premium performance in stringent applications and extended operating time between charges.
The new 8-Year / 5000-Cycle warranty will be effective March 11, 2024, and will be applied to all of Toyota’s lithium-ion batteries ordered on or after the effective date. The warranty is not retroactive for orders placed before 3/11/2024.
