TMH Hosts 4th Annual Toyota Lean Management Lean Champion Conference

Toyota Material Handling hosted its 4th annual Toyota Lean Management (TLM) Lean Champion Conference from August 20-22 in Atlanta, GA. The purpose of the TLM Conference was to gather dealer lean champions to share best practices and explore real-world examples. This year’s conference, which was hosted by Toyota Material Handling Systems, focused largely on applying TLM tools within the dealerships and with customers. Attendees shared their internal continuous improvement activities, challenges they’ve faced, and how they’ve overcome them. Several Lean champions also presented their current best practices for using TLM to help solve customer problems (that included material handling sales benefits to dealers). Cody Shaul, TMH Automation Solutions Manager, shared a presentation on “The Case for Lean,” reminding lean champions of the importance of optimization before automation to maximize the probability of automation project success. A highlight of the annual TLM Conference is the presentation of the Lean Champion of the Year Award, which is presented to a lean leader who embodies TLM values and behaviors and drives significant continuous improvement within their dealership. We would like to formally congratulate the 2024 Lean Champion of the Year award winner – Will Evans, of Toyota Material Handling Systems. Please join us in congratulating Will on his award and thank you to all of the attendees for their excellent contributions to this year’s event.
