TMH Heavy Duty Forklift Solutions – Product Price Increase Announcement – Tariffs

Effective April 23, 2025, Toyota Material Handling – Heavy Duty (only) will implement a 3.0% – 6.0% price increase and a surcharge on most products. Price protection is available until May 9, 2025, for existing open opportunities entered with a “quoted” status (opportunity start date) in CPQ between March 15 and April 13.

Please share this information with your sales staff immediately. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please contact your District Sales Manager.

Quoting / Price Protection Guidance

Quoting activity from 4/23/2023 – 5/9/2025:

  • The price protection period only applies to opportunities in “quoted” status dated 3/15/2025 through 4/13/2025 (opportunity start date). Eligible quotes will remain valid for retail orders until 5/9/2025.
  • Your District Sales Manager will provide all eligible opportunity numbers for price protection.
  • All opportunities eligible for price protection must place the retail order with a current price effective date (4/23/2025 or later). Once ordered, Sales Incentives will revert the price effective date to a pre-price increase. No other action is needed from the Dealer.
  • Factory orders without retail orders placed on or after 4/23/2025 will receive increased pricing.

Quoting activity post 5/9/2025:

  • If an eligible open quote does not close on or before 5/9/2025, it will no longer be valid. A price effective date “update” to 4/23/2025 or after is required. Worksheets and quotes should be regenerated and presented to the customer at this time, stating that the prior quote is no longer valid and that the updated quote is attached.

Steps for changing price effective date:

  • You may change these individually by going into the opportunity, changing the price effective date, saving, and then regenerating the worksheet and the quote.
  • If you need to change multiple units, you can go to the pre-sales tab in CRM, query for all quoted opportunities, select the opportunities to change, select the price effective date, and click OK. This will change the date on all selected opportunities.  You will still have to go into each opportunity to regenerate the worksheet and the quote.

Surcharge Process

  • All new quoting activity should include a surcharge amount in the quote worksheet.
  • The Dealer is required to calculate the surcharge amount
    • Surcharge $ = Surcharge % * Total Net Cost
  • Surcharge amounts should be included in the “Local Dealer Prep, Ship in Commissions, Freight” section of the quote worksheet.
    • Use the note section to note the calculated surcharge also
  • Once a truck order is submitted, THD will send confirmation of the surcharge amount with the truck serial number.
    • This will be the official surcharge for the unit and will be billed separately at the time of shipment.
