Toyota Heavy Duty’s THDA Assembly Team Wins Regional Quality Control Circles Competition

We’re proud to celebrate a significant win for Toyota Heavy Duty’s THDA Assembly Team, who recently took home first place in the Toyota Industries North America (TINA) Regional Quality Control Circles (QCC) Competition—beating out six other TINA companies!

This annual competition brings associates from across the region to collaborate, drive process improvements, and solve quality challenges. THD’s winning team tackled their highest-occurring internal defect: the misalignment and rubbing of the THDA40/60 engine door on the chassis. The team significantly improved throughput by addressing this issue and directly impacted customer quality.

Now, the spotlight gets even brighter. The team—Matt Cok, Josh Delgado, Hide Miyashiro, Tom Dahlen, Tarrence Montgomery, Azusa Yamazaki, Rachel Rivas, and Yuki Tsutsuki—will represent THD on the global stage as they travel to Japan to compete against 18 other Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) organizations from around the world.

Congratulations to the team on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck in Japan!
