The Toyota Lean Management team recently facilitated a Hoshin Kanri Kickstart workshop at Williams Toyota Lift. The goal was to introduce Williams’ leadership team to the Toyota Way of strategic planning and help them get started with a strategic planning and execution process that would work for their dealership.
Workshop Agenda:
- Review current performance metrics and genchi genbutsu of the dealership
- Identify what has been done well and opportunities for improvement
- Determine areas of focus for the next year
- Identify activities to improve the areas of focus
- Catchball with the leadership team to ensure alignment of activities and resources
- Catchball with improvement activity leaders to ensure goals are understood and S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound)
- Develop a plan for the execution and monitoring of strategy goals and improvement of activity status
