Top 11 Platinum Certification Winners Announced

Training and Development

SALES & CSSR TRAINING

Toyota Logistic Solutions Program: We have had great success to date with our TLS course. Since November, we have delivered 4 TLS courses and had 41 students complete the Toyota Logistics Solution Certification class. There are still two more courses scheduled in February, and there are still five slots currently available.

Sales Trainer Farewell: On a more personal note, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the many friendships I have built over the past five years while providing training to the Sales, CSSR, Parts, and Technical professionals at the dealership level.

Effective this February, I will be transitioning into a new role within Toyota as a Learning Experience Designer. This new role will allow me to focus on the development of training content used to onboard dealers to the new and highly integrated DMS system.

It has been a great privilege to work in the training department as a Sales Trainer, and I am certainly looking forward to this new adventure: Allowing us to create an even better customer experience across the dealer network together.

Thanks for a great ride so far, and best regards!

Sincerely,

Rusty Tomlinson

TRAINING SCHEDULE

New Courses Published: The trainers have been busy putting their schedules for the first quarter of 2022. We encourage you to go out to the Learning Center and take a look for dates that will work for you.

TOP ELEVEN TECHNICIANS SPOTLIGHT

Dan Sharp – Toyotalift Northeast, LLC:

Dan has been a technician for ten years. The thing that he enjoys most about being a technician is the satisfaction and challenge of finding the problem and solving it. When asked what advice he would give someone wanting to pursue a career in the industry, he stated, “Always listen and have an open mind. It doesn’t matter if it is with customers, other technicians, or tech support, there is always something to pick up on. Be patient, whether that is your career or solving a problem.”

To prepare for the Platinum Test, he looked over the manuals that were supplied ahead of time. He also downloaded them and put them in a logical order.

Dan’s hobbies include golf, woodworking, and playing music. An interesting fact about Dan is that he knows American Sign Language. Learning American Sign Language helped with his diagnostic skills because it is a conceptual language. You have to think about images and the process of how things happen. When we speak English, it tends to not be in chronological order. Because of ASL, I imagine how things are supposed to happen on the machines in the proper order. If I have that down, the diagnostic part falls back to fundamentals and works itself out.
