The Technician Platinum Skills Challenge took place on October 8 at Toyota Material Handling in Columbus, Indiana. The top eight qualifying technicians joined us for a comprehensive competition across TMH products for an opportunity to be named the Top Technician of 2025 and earn the Lifetime Platinum Technician distinction.
The technicians worked their way through 10 stations during the competition, where they had 20 minutes to diagnose an issue with the material handling equipment. Proctors were onsite to evaluate the technicians’ problem-solving methodology and assigned scores based on predefined criteria. Bret Hollar, from Vesco Toyotalift, one of our 100+ Toyota Certified Trainers, was invited to help proctor the challenge. Once the competition concluded, all scores were tallied, and the top three scoring technicians were recognized.
Our Platinum Skills Challenge Winner, Top Technician of 2025, is David Geddings with Southeast Industrial Equipment! David will receive $3,000, a recognition plaque, an invitation to our Annual Dealer Meeting, and a Lifetime Platinum Technician distinction. In second place, Robby Swindell with Toyota Material Handling Systems. And in third place, Rick Segrest with Toyota Lift of Houston.
